Coffee Log

I recently got more into proper coffee making. Here’s where I keep track of what coffees or brew methods I find the most enjoyable.

Pulp Filter, Brazil

After the initial failed test with the Finca El Faldon, I visited a local roastery to get freshly roasted beans that outside of the freshness, should also cater to my preferred taste of fuller, chocolate-y and not so acidic coffee.

I picked up a 250g bag of Pulp Filter Brazilian beans. The result was miles better from the original test, with the same recipe.

After getting the Fellow Ode Brew grinder, I decided to just give it a try with coffee beans I already had around. The result wasn’t great, the beans were stale, ca month over the recommended use time. Result was a bland, uninteresting and way too acidic cup. Not surprising given the stale coffee, but it provided a low-bar benchmark that ideally should be greatly improved with a freshly roasted coffee.
